Background. Youth participation in sports activities is the main attraction for researchers who want to learn more about the benefits of sports for positive youth development. Positive youth development is one of the best programs for developing young people to become more qualified in the school, family, and community environment. Objectives. This research aims to determine how much influence the sports environment has on positive youth development. Methods. The study used a survey method using a questionnaire as a research instrument. The research sample comprised 40 students from the Department of Sports Science at UNP. Results. The study results show that the value of R Square is 0.623, which means that the Sports Environment (X) influences Positive Youth Development (Y), with a final score of 62.3%. The study's results illustrate the impact of the sports environment on positive youth development. Conclusions. Thus, it can be seen that physical activity and sports play an important role in encouraging cognitive development at a young age. © 2025, Society of Aging and Physical Activity (SAPA).
