The genus Myopias Roger, 1861 is poorly known due to its cryptic lifestyle and nesting habits. Seven species of this genus have been recorded from Sumatra. A new, eighth species, M. paratenuis sp. nov. is described herein based on the worker caste. The new species is most similar to M. tenuis (Emery, 1900) from New Guinea, M. minima (Jaitrong et al., 2018) from Thailand, and M. suwannaphaki (Jaitrong et al., 2020) from Borneo. © 2025 Zoological Institute RAS and the Author(s)
