Abstract

This quasi-experimental study examined the effectiveness of interactive multimedia infographics integrated with Experiential Learning Theory in enhancing national identity among 395 Indonesian high school students from three schools in Padang, West Sumatra. Using the ADDIE development model, the research produced ten interactive multimedia infographics covering key Indonesian history topics for grade 11. The experimental group (n=199) used multimedia infographics while the control group (n=196) received conventional instruction over eight weeks. Data collection employed mixed methods including the National Identity Questionnaire (40 items, α=0.91), expert validation forms, practicality questionnaires, and semi-structured interviews. Results showed significant improvement in national identity scores (experimental M=7.50 vs. control M=6.26, gain 1.246 vs. 0.153, p<0.001, Hedges’ g=0.985). The product achieved high validity (87.5%) and practical ity (86.7%) ratings from experts and users. Qualitative findings indicated enhanced engagement, deeper historical understanding, and stronger emotional connection to national values. Consistency across schools (effect sizes 0.857-1.174) suggests robust external validity. This study provides evidence-based strategies for character education through technology-enhanced learning in developing contexts, contributing to both pedagogical innovation and theoretical understanding of technology-mediated character development. © 2025, Adam Marszalek Publishing House.
