The introductory real analysis course is taught in the third year of study because this course requires high-level thinking skills (HOTS) to be able to understand it. However, in the field, many students are found who fail these courses. One solution is to apply a learning method/technique with an oral presentation assignment. This research uses a mix method approach with quantitative data instruments in the form of tests (pretest and posttest) and qualitative data instruments using the triangulation method (questionnaires, observations and video recordings). From the quantitative analysis, it can be seen that there is an influence of using the oral presentation assignment method on students' HOTS abilities in the Introduction to Real Analysis course. Analysis of qualitative data shows that students are more motivated to learn when given responsibility for presenting material in front of their friends so that they prepare well for the presentation. © 2026 Author(s).
