Problem-Based Learning Model Toward the Science Environmental Attitude of the Students in Primary School

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of problem-based learning model on the environmental care attitude of the students in the primary school. This research was conducted in Primary School in Pekanbaru by including 63 students as population sample. This research used quasi experimental design method. The instruments used to measure environmental care attitudes was questionnaires. Quantitative data analysis processed using software SPSS Version 16.0 for windows. The results showed that the achievement of the average score of N-gain of the environmental care attitudes in the experimental class with the PBL model (average score of N-gain = 0.74 in the high category) compared with the control class that proposed the conventional learning model (average score of N-gain = 0.58 in the medium category), there is an average difference of 0.000 with a small significance level of the value of α is 0.05. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of PBL learning model on the students' environmental caring attitude in Primary School Pekanbaru. © 2024 American Institute of Physics Inc..
