Abstract

Unmanned aerial vehicle and small spacecraft applications make extensive use of the CP-SAR C band. This paper describes a parasitic circular polarization antenna design with a broadband axial ratio. The antenna is designed to operate at the 5.3 GHz center frequency. The antenna radiator and parasitic elements are designed using an elliptical antenna microstrip.Circular polarization is accomplished by adjusting the ellipse's axis, which is rotated 45 degrees relative to the feeding line.Broadband antennas are produced by attaching six parasitic elements to the left and right sides of the radiator.Based on the simulation results, the simulation impedance bandwidth and axial ratio bandwidth are 480 MHz and 156 MHz, respectively.According to the simulation results, the designed antenna has a high axial ratio and can be used with the CP-SAR sensor. © 2024 IEEE.
