To achieve optimal performance in Sharia-compliant fintech for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), disruptions caused by technological changes have led to an imbalance between supply and demand. This has harmed SMEs, necessitating a thorough performance examination for long-term viability, especially post-COVID-19. Sharia-compliant fintech is a promising alternative avenue to traditional banking, with this study aiming to evaluate its impact on SME sustainability. This research employs a quantitative survey method with purposive sampling, distributed questionnaires to 500 respondents in 11 districts of Padang, with valid responses from 486 individuals. Findings suggest that digital leadership, customer orientation, knowledge sharing, and social media usage influence SME sustainability, while Sharia fintech services do not. The study recommends that SME management in Padang, Indonesia, should embrace Sharia-compliant fintech to support business sustainability. This research contributes significantly to marketing, entrepreneurship, and sustainable marketing strategy fields, enriching existing literature and theories. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
