Communication skills in children become a primary tool in the teaching and learning process, as a means of interacting and being able to answer questions given by teachers, friends or other people around them. Communication skills allow children to increase their vocabulary and understand sentence structures better. To develop communication skills in children, the help of learning media is needed, one of which is the use of virtual reality technology. This study aims to see the use of virtual reality technology media in kindergartens in improving children's communication skills. Thuses a mix method. The subjects in this study were teachers at 3 kindergartens in Padang City, West Sumatra. The results obtained from quantitative data are r = 0.652, p <0.01. Meanwhile, from qualitative data, it was obtained that some teachers had known about virtual reality technology media but had never used it in developing children's communication skills. Another part, teachers did not know about virtual reality media at all, so from these two findings, there needs to be an effort to introduce the media to teachers and at the same time provide information on how to use it so that it can be used in developing children's abilities, including developing communication skills in kindergartens. © 2026 American Institute of Physics Inc..
