Abstract

One of the main parameters that determine the processing and utilization of coal mining is the quality of the coal. This research was conducted to determine the quality of coal based on proximate, sulfur, and calorie analysis with ASTM standards. Coal sampling was carried out at three different layers at CV. Bara Mitra Kencana. In suture sample 1 with the basic results dry air Total moisture 22.08%, Ash 62.25%, Moisture in 7.48%, Volatile matter 23.91%, Total sulfur 0.8%, Fixed carbon 6.36%, Calorific Value 2155.77 KCal / Kg. In suture sample 2 with the basic results dry air Total humidity 14.64%, Ash 6.29%, Humidity 6.48%, Volatile 37.45%, total sulfur 0.37%, fixed carbon 49.78%, Calorific value 7336 KCal / Kg. Inseam sample 3 with the basic results dry air Total humidity 9.71%, ash 2.84%, humidity 4.57%, volatile material 41.87%, total sulfur 0.32%, fixed carbon 50.72%, Calorific value 8207 KCal / Kg. It can be concluded that seam 1 samples include very low-quality coals and seam 2 and seam 3 samples include high-quality coals. low has a low calorific value.
