Abstract

Ag is a complex metal that is stable for uric acid compared to other metals, the result of the reaction of uric acid with Ag+ gives a color change, it means it is eligible to be tested with UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The purpose of this study was to analyze uric acid with AgNO3 reagent and determine its optimum condition. Determination of uric acid levels in the blood using AgNO3 solution with the instrument used is a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Based on the results of the analysis using the UV-Vis spectrovotometry method, it was shown that the uric acid complex with Ag+ obtained of 421 nm. The optimum concentration of AgNO3 for 10 ppm uric acid is 0.05 M with a response time of 10 minutes and the pH of uric acid from the results of the study shows a pH of 7.3. Comparison of the results of the analysis of uric acid in the blood using the UV-Vis spectrophotometry method with the results of the analysis of uric acid in the blood with hospital laboratory tests of 66.6%, which means that this method does not meet the requirements for the analysis of uric acid in the blood. © 2023 Author(s).
