The concept of mathematics sometimes appears naturally from the culture of a society without going through previous formal education. The mathematics that is integrated with culture will make a great contribution to learning mathematics. This study aims to prove a mutual relationship between mathematics and culture. In this research, researchers used a qualitative approach with an ethnographic method. Instruments in this research are the human instrument, the researcher is directly related to the research and act as a data collector through library data collection, interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and data analysis. The result of the research is to reveal mathematical activities and geometry patterns in the Songket Pandai Sikek pattern of Minangkabau. This study shows that there is a affair between mathematics and culture. © 2023 Author(s).
