Abstract

Distance learning (online) in the COVID-19 era requires students and educators to be active in independent learning. Currently, there are quite a lot of learning media used in learning, such as using WhatsApp, Google Sites, Google Classroom, Padlet, Edmodo, or Video Conference applications such as Google Meet, Zoom, Webex, and quiz applications such as Kahoot and Quizizz. However, the implementation is not always carried out properly according to student interests, especially in learning physics. The purpose of this study was to determine student interest in learning physics during the COVID-19 pandemic in the context of developing scientific literacy learning games. The method to do this research is descriptive. The sample was taken using the purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique was carried out using the distribution of online questionnaires using google Forms. The instrument used consisted of 3 components, namely feelings, values, and reengagement. The research was carried out in 5 Senior High Schools in Padang City. The results show that 65% of Padang city high school students have an interest in studying physics during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The results of this analysis, it proves that interest in learning physics can be used as a basis for developing learning games containing scientific literacy. © 2023 Author(s).
