Transformational geometry is one of mandotary subject in most mathematics study program in Indonesia. This subject requires the student to use their spatial-visual ability to identify geometrics object from information or to draw its. In addition, to communicate their geometrical ideas, student should use their logical-mathematical ability. To create a better planning to teach this subject both abilities should be evaluated. Twenty students were chosen from mathematics study programs Universitas Negeri Padang in purpose. After their finish this course, we provide three problems that consist of four items to evaluate both ability from them. We provide rubric and semi-structured interview to get a better conclusion. We also count the correlation of both abilities. After analysis students' responses to both problems, we conclude that each ability cannot forget about other, they should work together. We also found that there is a positive correlation between both abilities. So, both of abilities have to consider in learning transformational geometry. © 2023 Author(s).
