Abstract

Sasau fish lived in Lake Singkarak, that one of the domestic fish. This study was aimed to investigated the reproductive of Sasau fish (Hampala sp) especially sex ratio, egg diameter related to dry season. However, this phenomenon important to observed before domestication. Random sampling was captured 67 fish in the dry season (July–August 2021) based on visual observation of the body length, gonad morphology, and egg diameter. The results show that sex ratio between male and female was 1:3. The egg diameter was directly proportional to the body length fish. The fish length about 25 cm, has an egg diameter of 148.3μm, the length of fish about 65 cm has an egg diameter of 330.2 μm. Based on the results of research in the dry season at Lake Singkarak, female Sasau fish (Hampala sp) were more dominant. The length body about 30 cm existing to produce eggs with a good maturity level. Furthermore, good recommendation regarding the catch of Sasau fish Hampala sp in related areas should be carried out in rainy season. © 2022 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved.
