Abstract

This Based on the results of observations and experience gained during Industrial Field Practices in one of the authorized workshops where the valve skirting procedure is performed manually, namely by turning the handle back and forth by hand. The manual procedure requires an extensive period, making it less efficient and effective. Researchers employed the Research and Development (R&D) methodology for this study. This R&D strategy was chosen because it produces products that undergo development. In this study, researchers will devise a valve skirting tool for automobiles that utilizes an electric motor player with an AC dimmer setting. In the Body and Painting Laboratory and the Combustion Motor Laboratory, Department of Automotive Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University, researchers conduct tool testing and research. According to the investigation's findings, as the rotational speed of the electric motor increases, the thickness of the margin decreases, as does the time spent shucking. However, at 1000 rpm, there is no decreasing that is excessively on the margin, as the rotation is still slow, and the rotational load is low when the valve is in contact with the valve seat on the cylinder head. © 2023 IEEE.
