The objective of this study is to investigate the utilization of energy collecting devices within the exhaust ducts of vehicles. During the investigation, it is proposed to create an auxiliary structure that incorporates a turbine and is connected to a generator within the emission duct. When the exhaust gas flow encounters the propeller, it imparts rotational motion to the propeller, thereby driving the generator to generate electrical energy. The application commences by examining the characteristics of cross flow and Savonius turbine designs. Subsequently, the investigation focuses on the configuration of the supplementary structure and its orientation with respect to the flow. Additionally, the study explores the impact of altering the number of spins on the generator. Finally, experimental trials are conducted with additional bodies and propellers that are compatible with the vehicle. The design of this vehicle body aims to maintain pleasing appearances while ensuring the comfort of both drivers and passengers remains undisturbed. Based on the test findings, it has been observed that the augmentation of the body mass and the winding in the mechanism leads to a proportional boost to the generated electric voltage. © 2023 IEEE.
