Abstract

Radiation characteristics and performance evaluation of a slotted array substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) antenna with non-uniform slots are presented by varying the length of slots on the SIW surface. The slotted array SIW antenna is designed with non-uniform slots and intended to work at the operating frequency of 2.4 GHz, while the dielectric substrate used is an FR4 epoxy material with the thickness of 1.6 mm. Performance evaluation of the proposed SIW antenna radiation characteristics is carried out by comparing the simulation and measurement results. It was found that the proposed non-uniform slots SIW antenna could achieve the measured bandwidth of 92 MHz from the frequency of 2.323 GHz to 2.415 GHz which was comparable to the simulation result while maintaining the gain and radiation patterns. © 2023 IEEE.
