Mesoporous silica on the surface of nanoparticles' magnetic Fe3O4-Fe2O3 has been synthesized in one pot reaction method by using Sijunjung iron sand and Na2SiO3 as raw materials. The influence of Na2SiO3 mole as raw materials on the existence of silica pore size on the surface of Fe3O4-Fe2O3 composite product has been studied. The product were characterized by X-ray diffraction. The results showed that mesoporous silica start to form on the surface of the Fe3O4-Fe2O3 composite when Na2SiO3 was used 8 times moles of iron sand. The increasing of Na2SiO3 mole lead to increase of OH-concentration and transformed some Fe3O4 into Fe2O3 © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
