Abstract

This study was designed to analyze the effect of theexistential counseling model on improving the meaningfulness of life of Commercial Sex Workers (CSWs) through the use of a group approach. This research was conducted experimentally using 10 CSWs undergoing rehabilitation in social institutions as a sample. The instrument used to collect data was questionnaire and the data obtained were analyzed using statistical analysis. The results showed the existential counseling model proved effective in improving the meaningfulness of life by increasing self-awareness, motivation, self-confidence, and self-actualization. It is, therefore, recommended that social institutions counselors apply this model and interact more with CSWs to improve the meaningfulness of their lives. © 2020, Institute of Advanced Scientific Research, Inc..
