Abstract

The background of this research is to find information on learning models that can improve the thinking skills of elementary school students in science learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the problem-based learning model to enhance the critical thinking skills of elementary school students in science learning. This study was a true experimental design with a type of post-test group. The results showed that the problem-based learning model could improve the critical thinking skills of elementary school students in science learning. This study implies that elementary school teachers can use a problem-based learning model in enhancing students' critical thinking skills in science learning in elementary schools. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
