The adoption of electronic money has become an essential phenomenon in the digital era, mainly driven by the need to reduce physical contact during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to understand the factors influencing behavioral intention and use of electronic money in Padang City. This study aims to analyze the effect of ease of use, performance expectations, habits, and the risk of COVID-19 on behavioral intentions and actual use of electronic money. Primary data was collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 216 respondents who use electronic money in Padang City. Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS version 3.0 to test the variables' validity, reliability, and relationship. The results showed that ease of use, performance expectations, habits, and COVID-19 risk positively and significantly influence behavioral intentions. Behavioral intention was also a significant mediator between these variables and the actual use of electronic money. This study has limitations in that the geographical coverage is limited to Padang City, so the results may need to be more generalizable to the rest of Indonesia. In addition, this study did not consider other factors, such as social and cultural influences. The findings confirm the importance of factors such as ease of use and performance expectations in driving the adoption of electronic money. Further research is recommended to expand the geographical coverage and include additional variables for a more comprehensive understanding. © 2025, SRAC - Romanian Society for Quality.
